PHOTOS: Winter storm leads to snow-covered roads around New Mexico

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Thursday night’s winter storm brought snow and cold weather to different parts of New Mexico. The Albuquerque Metro and parts of western, central, and northern New Mexico saw snow. The heaviest snow fell in the northern mountains and in northeast New Mexico.

The snow also created dangerous driving conditions. The New Mexico Department of Transportation said it was preparing for the winter storms and, with snow in the northern mountains, expects to treat the roads through Saturday morning. NMDOT is reminding people to drive slowly and give plow trucks room on the road.
