ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It hasn’t even been a week since Albuquerque Public Schools put its clear backpack policy in place on some campuses and part of it seems to be unraveling: the bags themselves.
District officials handed out 7,000 for free to help families transition to the new policy. But some parents say not only can you see through them, things are falling out of them.
Some parents are just buying replacements, but others are turning to grocery bags. That’s what APS officials told them students would receive if they didn’t have a clear backpack.
