Old post office in South Valley to become hub for job skills and trades
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A 1960s post office on Bridge Boulevard is being transformed into a career technical education center.
Robert F. Kennedy Charter School purchased the property last year. They plan to build a new facility for welding and automotive technology programs. Clyde Ortiz, a South Valley native and former body shop owner, will oversee the programs.
“Some of them may want to go to college. Some of them we want to go straight to work. Some of them may want to open up their own businesses, so we’re trying to provide opportunities for students in all of those areas,” Ortiz said…
