Storm destroys tent station where thousands of asylum-seekers sought, found help

SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — Storms recently destroyed a large tent where food, water and basic first aid materials were kept to help migrants in need along the Tijuana-San Diego border.

Its remnants were collected and placed in a dumpster by contractors working for the federal government.

Pedro Rios, with the American Friends Service Committee, which operated the tent and coordinated volunteers for almost three years, called it “an end of an era.”…
