Albuquerque, NM: Near-Record Warmth Today, Cold Fronts Ahead

Albuquerque, New Mexico — Temperatures are running well above normal today across Albuquerque and much of eastern New Mexico, with highs 15–20 degrees above average and near-record warmth possible in parts of the region.

For Albuquerque, afternoon highs are expected in the low to mid-50s, while eastern New Mexico warms even more dramatically. Forecast highs include:

  • Clines Corners: ~71°F
  • Fort Sumner: ~71°F (near record)
  • Las Vegas Airport: ~63°F (near record)
  • Tucumcari Airport: ~73°F, which may tie or exceed a record

This warmth won’t last.

Beginning Friday, a series of cold fronts on Friday, Saturday, and again Monday will bring large temperature swings day to day, especially across eastern New Mexico. Residents should expect cooler air behind each front, along with breezy to windy conditions, particularly on Friday and Saturday
