ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One person is dead Tuesday night after an early morning shooting in northwest Albuquerque. The Albuquerque Police Department said that 28-year-old Summer Coughran told them she shot her father, 65-year-old Kirk Coughran, at their home near Paradise Blvd. and Eagle Ranch Road.
18-year-old pleads guilty to burglary and assault charges in Albuquerque
Coughran claimed that her father assaulted her and had a history of doing so. But after interviewing her, police said her story did not match the evidence police found on scene. During the investigation, police learned of several police reports related to Summer, including one that referenced mental health issues. She was charged with murder.
