Woman facing prison time for death of neglected daughter

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque woman accused of neglecting her 16-year-old special needs daughter until she died took a plea deal in court Wednesday.

Man arrested in connection to overdose death in Taos

Bernalillo County Deputies say Doraelia Espinoza was responsible for the death of her child in 2022 after months of neglect. Deputies say Espinoza took the girl to the University of New Mexico Hospital, but it was clear she had been dead for some time. Investigators say the girl was badly malnourished and her room was filled with flies, feces and blood. Espinoza pleaded no contest to child abuse. Her sentencing is still underway.
