ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Developers are proposing the transformation of a former Whole Foods Market in northeast Albuquerque into something new. But nearby neighborhood associations aren’t happy with those plans.
Near the prominent giant red arrow stands the property near Carlisle and Indian School off of I-40, known as the former Whole Foods Market, or as the most recent temporary home of a Spirit Halloween Store. “It’s been there for 50, 60 years. And it’s been a lot of things. It’s a desirable location,” said Eric Kruger, neighborhood coalition representative.

And while the property currently sits empty, developers are working on a new proposal that could turn it into a Maverik gas station.
