Mayor Keller wins Public Leadership in Arts award

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque continues to gain recognition as the winners of the Public Leadership in the Arts Award were announced, and Mayor Tim Keller was among the list. The awards are presented by the United States Conference of Mayors and the Americans for the Arts, recognizing elected officials strengthening the economy through arts and culture.

The city’s creative economy now generates $1.75 billion in annual impact and has supported 17,000 jobs. Americans For the Arts will host its national convention in the city this June, giving people a chance to get a first-hand look at the ways public art is expanding in the state.
