ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque father is still looking for his son, who went missing more than two years ago. The community is pleading for answers while also celebrating the missing boy’s 14th birthday. Andrew Escobar was 11 years old when he was last seen in Rio Rancho in July of 2023. On Saturday, his father shared the heartbreak and hope he still has.
Another year celebrating the birthday of 14-year-old Andrew Escobar, and it’s another year the family is celebrating without him. “We were best friends. We would always do everything together. We loved to make videos together of what we were doing and just joke around a lot. He was always joking around,” said Juan Escobar, father of Andrew.
His father, Juan Escobar, said the journey has been painful. Andrew went missing in Rio Rancho in July of 2023. According to court documents, Andrew’s birth mother is believed to have him. Albuquerque police said she has multiple felony warrants after violating their custody agreement, and Andrew has yet to be seen. The case remains open with APD and the US Marshals Office.
