Jury convicts Albuquerque man of murder in 2024 South Valley shooting

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A jury on Monday convicted an Albuquerque man of first-degree murder following a shooting in which a man was killed.

In August 2024, Samuel Jimenez Perez shot at a home near Atrisco and Mares after demanding his motorcycle back, injuring two men, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

Then, in September 2024, deputies returned to the same home after another shooting and found Rosendo Martinez dead. According to the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office, Perez went to Martinez’s home at approximately 5:45 a.m. and was wearing a bulletproof vest and was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

Investigators found that Martinez was shot seven times, and they recovered 25 spent bullet casings at the scene…
