Man accused of New Year’s Day murder in Albuquerque to remain in custody

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — A man accused of helping commit the first homicide of 2026 in Albuquerque was in court on Thursday. Albuquerque police say 22-year-old Dominic Martinez helped another suspect, Peyton Reagan, track down Reagan’s girlfriend and kill the man she was with on New Year’s Day.

According to police, Reagan wanted to kill his girlfriend and her friends after an argument.Martinez recruited his cousin to drive them all downtown, where police say Reagan got into a fight with the victim, Alexander Wilson, who was with Reagan’s girlfriend.

Witnesses say Reagan shot and killed Wilson. Martinez is charged with murder and tampering with evidence…
