A weather alert has been issued for Albuquerque and surrounding areas, with heavy snowfall expected to continue into the night and early Saturday, February 13-14, 2026. According to the US National Weather Service Albuquerque, snow levels will begin high, starting above 8,500 feet, before dropping closer to 7,000 feet by sunrise on Saturday. This change in elevation marks the beginning of a significant weather event, as snow accumulation is expected to be particularly heavy in the northern mountains.

Snowfall amounts are projected to range from 4 to 8 inches above 8,500 feet, with the heaviest snow falling near ski resort areas. As temperatures drop, rain may mix with snow at lower elevations, including parts of the Continental Divide. While snow may accumulate down to 6,000 feet, accumulation along the Continental Divide is unlikely for most of New Mexico…
