ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Sun Devil Track and Field competed in New Mexico’s Don Kirby Elite Invitational from Feb.13-14 at the Albuquerque Convention Center with some hardware returning to Tempe.
Redshirt senior distance runner Dayton Carlson led the way for Arizona State with a triumphant win in the Men’s 800m run, clocking in at 1:48.66 to secure gold. Right behind him were fellow Sun Devil distance runners – senior Tyler Schierenberg and sophomore Lemerian Lemashon – who took third and fourth place respectively in the event.
In the field events for the ASU men, graduate thrower Brandon Lloyd claimed first after posting a 18.78m / 61’ 7 ½ score in the men’s shot put. Sophomore thrower Preston Beery turned in a fourth-place finish with a score of 17.45m / 57′ 3″ as sophomore Owen Lee rounded out a top-10 trio of Sun Devils with a 16.07m / 52′ 8¾” for himself…
