Albuquerque Film & Music Experience 2026 festival cancelled

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Film & Music Experience (AFMX), a local annual film and music festival, has announced the cancellation of this year’s celebration.

According to an AFMX press release, the decision was made with the intention of strengthening the foundation for the long-term success of the festival.

“The organization will use 2026 as a strategic rebuild year, focusing on educationalprogramming, community outreach, and curated panels and master classes that directly servefilmmakers, students, and creatives across New Mexico,” said AFME Foundation Board Member Jonathan Nagel. “We’re excited about what we’re building in 2026 and confident this evolution positions AFMX for long-term success.”
