ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One of Albuquerque’s most recognizable downtown buildings is undergoing a major transformation to bring in more affordable housing, but what does it take to turn an office space into apartments?

Built in the 1970’s, the old Wells Fargo building will now be known as the Lomas Tower as it gets converted into a modern apartment building. The developer said they will be giving the building a facelift while also preserving some of its historic features.
“Hopefully, we’ll have office spaces, a cafe, and potentially a restaurant. We’re also looking at possibly an Early Childhood Education could be a potential use for this,” said Adam Silverman, Vice President, Geltmore LLC…
