ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A father embarked on a cross-country journey on Monday, all to give back after the Ronald McDonald House nonprofit supported his family for months. In 2013, Jeff and Liz Bekos spent 254 days at their local chapter while their daughter, Hailey, was in the hospital fighting a rare, life-threatening disease. She has since made a full recovery.

The Bekos family founded One Dad’s Mission to spread the word about the charity and what it can do. Bekos took his first charity bike ride across the country in 2024, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. This year, he’s aiming to visit every Ronald McDonald House in the country, starting in Albuquerque, where he said locals can always get involved. “Our mission is to spread a little bit of kindness. And I know Albuquerque, your hearts are full of kindness. So come on down, and show your love towards these families that are dealing with very difficult times,” said Jeff Bekos.
Bekos will travel to 34 more Ronald McDonald House locations during the first leg of the ride, which concludes in Iowa City this June. The full journey will span nearly 6,000 miles…
