ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — Calming, soothing, meditative, and healing. That’s what the New Mexico Cancer Center is aiming for with its upcoming art exhibit.
“It takes your mind off things, to give us something beautiful to look at, and to sort of calm down. Imagine you have your very first appointment and you’re seeing somebody because you might have cancer,” said New Mexico Cancer Center Gallery Director Regina Held. “We try to help them through art with that.”
“Gallery with a Cause” brings a different art exhibition to the New Mexico Cancer Center every season. On top of aiming to help patients through art, it’s also a way to raise funds for the New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation. 40% of each art sale goes to the foundation, which then distributes the money to patients, according to Held…
