‘Indicators’ of possible terrorism in deadly Austin mass shooting: FBI

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The FBI says there are “indicators” suggesting a possible terrorism connection in a shooting near a popular bar in Austin, Texas, that left two people dead and at least 14 others injured. The suspected gunman is also dead, according to authorities.

Austin Police officers received calls before 2 a.m. about a man shooting at Buford’s Bar early Sunday morning. According to Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, an SUV was seen driving in the area before the shooting.

“At one point, [the driver] put his flashers on, rolled down his window, and began using a pistol, shooting out of his car windows, striking patrons of the bar that were on the patio and that were in front of the bar,” Davis explained.

The suspect then allegedly drove a short distance away and parked his vehicle, got out, and opened fire at people walking by, she added. He continued walking before encountering officers at an intersection…
