New Mexico weather: Warm temps, winds, lunar eclipse

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Sunday kicked off Meteorological Spring and Mother Nature celebrated with record-breaking high temperatures around New Mexico.

Albuquerque reached a high of 79 degrees, beating out a previous record-high of 74 degrees – set back in 1974. A weak cool front slid through the state, bringing another round of breezy to windy conditions across the state – but only some will see cooler temps.

We will have another couple of cold fronts this week with more windy conditions expected and cooler weather. Red flag warnings and fire weather warnings will go from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday for the northeast highlands. Strong winds, gusting up to 30-40 mph, and low humidity are expected…
