Police: Kan. woman died after small plane crash onto golf course

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico —A woman identified as 63-year-old Deborah Rhinesmith of Wichita, according to New Mexico State Police, died after a small plane traveling from Kansas crashed on a golf course Friday in Albuquerque.

Just after 11:30a.m., Albuquerque Fire and Rescue was dispatched to the Los Altos Golf Course for a reported small plane that crash landed, according to the department’s social media page.

Engine 9 arrived within five minutes of dispatch and found the single-engine Cessna 400 Corvalis TT with Rhinesmith and one other person stuck inside. The aircraft was not on fire but had significant damage.

The two people were extricated from the plane and transported to The University of New Mexico Hospital where Rhinesmith was pronounced deceased. The State Patrol did not release the name of the other person on board…
