Road rage suspect accused of shooting woman and teen in car in Albuquerque arrested

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – West Mesa High School was put on a shelter in place this morning, after a shooting suspect barricaded himself in a nearby home. Officers took 22-year-old Houston Ruiz-Licon into custody near Quailbrush Dr. and Fortuna Rd. The incident caused West Mesa High School to shelter-in-place for half-an-hour.

Second teen arrested for deadly shooting outside southwest Albuquerque gas station

Ruiz-Licon is the suspect in a road rage shooting that KRQE News 13 reported on last week. According to investigators, Ruiz-Licon shot at another vehicle near Fortuna Rd. and Coors Blvd., hitting a 30-year-old woman and a 17-year-old teen inside the car. Both were treated for injuries but survived.

Several tips came in, which helped police identify the suspect. Ruiz-Licon has been charged with aggravated battery and assault with a deadly weapon…
