Albuquerque, New Mexico – Temperatures could surge toward the mid-90s by Thursday afternoon in Albuquerque, signaling an unusually early taste of summer as a powerful ridge of high pressure expands across the western United States during the first full days of spring.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, a strong upper-level ridge developing Wednesday through Sunday, March 18–22, will push temperatures 15 to 25 degrees above mid-March averages across New Mexico. Albuquerque may climb into the low to mid-90s, while southern communities including Las Cruces and Alamogordo could approach the upper 90s during the peak of the heat late in the week…
