City begins construction on Paseo del Norte and Unser Boulevard expansion

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — The city broke ground on a major roadwork project today, expanding both Unser and Paseo del Norte Boulevard from two lanes to four, and installing new traffic signals along both roads. The city says it is the largest road project it has ever undertaken.

A project years in the making, “This has been the much-needed and most anticipated and most wanted traffic decongestion project that folks have wanted also for at least 2 decades,” said Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller.

The $62-million, Unser and Paseo del Norte widening project is officially underway…
