Antiquarian Book Fair wraps up 35th annual event

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One of Albuquerque’s largest book fairs wrapped up on Saturday, showcasing all types of collectables, rare items, and over 30,000 books. Attendees got to treasure hunt this weekend for their next read and shop with local vendors selling vintage music albums, New Mexican artifacts, and books in every genre.

Organizers say they had a good turnout and were happy to see how many came to support them for their 35th anniversary. “People are now realizing that you can look at it online, but there’s nothing quite like coming and touching it, feeling it, sniffing it, seeing what it is that you’re buying,” said Mark Holmen, director of the book fair.

Saturday’s event also accepted donations and raised funds for the local nonprofit, Libros For Kids, which gives books to Albuquerque kids every month. The most expensive book available was a first edition of Dune by Frank Herbert, selling for $25,000…
