ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A new senior housing community is now open, working to fill a dire need in Albuquerque for affordable housing. Farolito Senior Community just recently opened and is already 60% full.
The nonprofit leasing the land, Sol Housing, says they expect it to reach full capacity by the end of the month. “We have a 30,000-unit deficit of affordable housing in our community,” Sol Housing Executive Director Felipe Rael said. “So 82 units at a time is really helpful.”
