ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — The stats are in – Albuquerque Community Safety’s annual report shows a record number of people served. In 2025, ACS transported 4,311 people in crisis to services across the metro, which is a 30% jump from the prior year.
The transports enabled folks to access medical care, mental health services, detox and substance use treatment, and emergency shelters. Nearly 800 people were driven to Gateway West – the city’s largest shelter – and more than 600 transported to UNM’s adult psychiatric center.
They’ve nearly met some of those numbers already this year, with 841 people already transported to care so far in 2026…
