New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science prepares to reopen this week

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – After closing its doors last summer for major renovations, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science will soon welcome back guests.

Eight months ago, the museum embarked on its first major upgrade in decades. The nearly $4 millio project includes a redesigned entrance, a new ticket area, and a revamped gift shop. “The visitor experience has been a little chaotic when it gets crowded, so let’s re-imagine the lobby space, which is where I’m standing right now, so that it should streamline the experience when people come through our doors, buy their tickets, and then go see the museum,” said Anthony Fiorillo the Executive Director the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Museum.

Some changes fixed behind-the-scenes elements, but people will also notice some big shifts throughout the museum, like the skylights in the main atrium and cretaceous hall…
