Outstanding Bar

This category acknowledges various bars and breweries across the country – from Pennsylvania to California, and of course, Albuquerque. Bow & Arrow Brewing Co. was one of five spots named on the list of nominees. This is the brewery’s second time being recognized by the James Beard Foundation.

“We’re incredibly honored to be recognized by the James Beard Foundation as a 2026 Nominee for Outstanding Bar. This recognition means so much to us and to New Mexico. From day one, we’ve set out to build more than a space with great beer—something rooted in place, culture, and community. To see that resonate on a national stage is incredibly powerful,” Bow & Arrow Brewing told KRQE. “We’re excited to represent New Mexico heading into the finals in Chicago and just continue doing what we love—creating thoughtful beer and a welcoming space for our community. Grateful to share this moment with everyone who’s been part of the journey.”

The brewery was founded by Shyla Sheppard over a decade ago. For her, part of the enjoyment has been “bringing a diverse perspective to the craft beer industry.” You can find their beer selection online.
