VALENCIA COUNTY, N.M. – Christian pilgrims climbed Tomé Hill on Good Friday, where a shrine and three crosses mark one of New Mexico’s sacred places.
For thousands of years, the hill has risen above the flat landscape and has served as a place for ceremonies and prayers. Today, pilgrims go there as a show of faith.
