Downtown Growers’ Market celebrates 30 years

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Saturday marked the official start of the Downtown Growers’ Market, and local vendors are celebrating its 30th anniversary. Hundreds of vendors were there selling a variety of goods from fresh produce to original art, to live music and entertainment. There was something for everyone.

As the market celebrates three decades in the making, operators say the community is what kept them going for so many years. “We love our community. We’re here because of the people in Downtown and Albuquerque. This is a community-driven market, and we wouldn’t be here if you could look around, like everybody comes to this market. It’s a great market. We’re welcoming, we welcome everybody. Like I said, it’s community-supported. We are about the community. So we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for people from Albuquerque,” said Jena Marquez-Donovan, marketing manager with Downtown Growers’ Market.

The market is open every Saturday through November 7 from 8:00 a.m. until noon…
