Busy Bees Childcare targeted in weekend burglary in Albuquerque totaling $15,000

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A local childcare and daycare center in the Southeast Heights in Albuquerque was broken into over the weekend, and facility operators are scrambling to make sense of what happened, all while picking up the pieces to resume operations on Tuesday. Employees are in shock after coming into work Monday morning and finding their facility in shambles. Based on the tools left behind, the owner thinks the thief was prepared and knew how to get in.

“We feel like it was targeted at the way and things they stole and the way they approached,” Busy Bees Childcare Owner and Director Jennifer Lopez said. “We found they had tools readily available to cut our fence chain as well as the tools to get the TV off the stand.”

An upwards of $15,000 worth of valuables and damages has been rounded up following the burglary. The gate was broken into, along with their front door and main office door. One of their vans was stolen for student pickup and drop off, a television, a laptop, food, and toys. One of the teachers says the TV was stolen from her classroom…
