Residents urged to attend meeting on end of current fire and EMS services in Edgewood

EDGEWOOD, N.M. — With current fire and emergency services set to end in Edgewood this summer, people are urged to attend a special meeting on it Tuesday night.

Come July 1, Santa Fe County is set to stop serving the town of just over 6,000 people. Tuesday’s meeting will go over what will happen after that day.

The county stated they won’t serve the town because they haven’t paid for it in years. However, residents say public safety isn’t optional and they’re pushing for town leaders to come up with a plan…
