ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An inmate in the Metro Detention Center (MDC) system was found dead Saturday afternoon. Andrew Witt was booked into MDC on Christmas Eve and was sentenced to the Community Custody Program on March 24.

Inmates can be placed on CCP while they are awaiting the resolution of their court case, or they are placed there to serve out their sentence, rather than being physically incarcerated at MDC. Witt was living at a halfway house in Albuquerque and was reported dead by officials at that facility.
