Calmer weather and warmer air before spotty rain

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Colder air is present in most areas with passing clouds, spotty rain or snow showers in northern areas. Westerly winds have brought in mostly dry air as the jet stream has flattened out over the region from the north, allowing for cooler air to move in.

Air temperatures in the north are starting off around the high 20s to the lower 40s, except for some northeastern areas starting off in the upper 40s. Elsewhere to the south, air temperatures are mostly ranging from around the high 30s to the 60s.

Many areas from eastern New Mexico to the Pecos River Valley area will range from the 60s to the 80s. The northern higher elevations will range from the 40s to the 50s, while the northern valley floors to western and central areas will mostly range from the upper 50s to the low 80s…
