Turkish Food & Culture Fair kicks off

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Folks from across New Mexico gathered on Saturday to celebrate Turkish identities and culture. The annual Albuquerque Turkish Food & Culture Fair kicked off Saturday morning at the Raindrop Foundation Turkish Cultural Center.

Attendees could sample Mediterranean foods and see some cultural exhibits like the whirling dervish folk dance. Visitors said it was a great way to hang out with their community and experience their favorite part of Turkish culture.

“The food is fantastic, it really is. And these beautiful girls are gonna be dancing along with music; a lot of activities for the kids, and some very unique shopping,” said attendee Patricia Appel.
