Pacific Islands Simulation has been quietly working on Albuquerque International Sunport (KABQ) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and a pair of development updates posted to their Facebook page over the past two months give a decent first look at where the project stands.
Albuquerque is New Mexico’s primary airport, a mid-size domestic hub sitting at around 5,350 feet elevation with the Sandia Mountains as a backdrop. It’s not a glamour destination, but it’s a solid regional airport in a popular flying region, and the high-desert setting makes for some nice approaches.
