NEW MEXICO (KRQE) — Birders, grab your binoculars, because millions of birds are flying over New Mexico. According to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s “BirdCast,” more than 3 million birds crossed over New Mexico last night.
Right now is peak migration for millions of birds as spring migration season is at its highest. Warmer weather is bringing species like warblers and hummingbirds northward to breed, using the state as a critical migration corridor.
