Karissa Culbreath appointed RR deputy mayor

RIO RANCHO — Rio Rancho Governing Body member Karissa Culbreath was appointed deputy mayor Thursday, filling a leadership post early in Mayor Paul Wymer’s administration.

Culbreath, who won a second four-year term to her District 5 seat in March, was unanimously confirmed to the council following a nomination by her predecessor, District 2 Councilor Jeremy Lenentine.

“I’ve found her to be very insightful on all topics. I very much appreciate how she’s dug in; she’s put in the work; she asks good questions. She sees through things to get a clear answer,” Lenentine said of Culbreath during the meeting. “Even when we’re on opposite sides of the vote, I think she makes great points, so I think she’s going to do a good job in this capacity.”…
