Man hospitalized after shooting in Washington Highlands neighborhood, DC police investigating

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police are investigating after a shooting left a man injured in the Washington Highlands neighborhood overnight.

Metropolitan Police Department officers initially responded to reported gunfire in the 600 block of Mississippi Avenue, SE just minutes after 12:30 a.m.

However, investigators found evidence that the shooting took place about a half mile away, in the 800 block of Xenia Street. This is near KIPP DC Legacy College Preparatory.

Officers did not find any victims at the scene, but later learned that a man had taken himself to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to MPD…
