Investigation: Fatal I-95 bus crash driver had prior speeding charges in Maryland and Virginia

STAFFORD, Va. — As investigators continue to piece together the causes of the catastrophic chain-reaction crash on Interstate 95, on Friday that claimed five lives and injured 44 others, new records reveal the driver behind the wheel had a documented history of excessive speeding in multiple states.

Jing Sheng Dong, 48, currently sits in the medical unit of the Rappahannock Regional Jail, facing charges of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the wreck. However, WUSA9 has uncovered a pattern of traffic violations involving Dong’s driving.

Dong works for E&P Travel Inc., a North Carolina-based charter bus company operating a fleet of four buses with 11 drivers.
