Several hurt, property damaged in Bethesda charter bus: MCFRS

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Several people were hurt after a charter bus encountered a braking malfunction on Sunday, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS).

Firefighters received reports around 5:45 p.m. of property damage spanning across several blocks along Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda.

Search efforts underway for missing swimmer in Montgomery County

There, crews learned that a charter bus had lost control and struck several utility and light poles, causing portions of Rt. 355 to close temporarily. The extent of the damage has yet to be determined.

Firefighters said several bus passengers were evaluated at the scene, and one adult was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
