ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — Alexandria police are expected to release footage after the shooting where they shot and killed a man who was accused of killing a woman in May.

Around 4 a.m. on May 18, Alexandria police responded to Canterbury Square, where a woman had reportedly been shot. During the response, a man reportedly barricaded himself in a room. He eventually exited and began “charging” at officers, according to reporting from previous coverage.
Officers then shot and killed the man. Police are expected to release body camera footage and share preliminary investigative information currently available during a media briefing at noon on June 24.
