Police: Woodbridge man pointed gun at school security during dog dispute

A 40-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested Wednesday after police say he brandished a gun at a River Oaks Elementary School security officer who told him he couldn’t walk his dog on school property.

Officers responded to the school at 16950 Mcguffeys Trail in Woodbridge at 8:44 a.m., where the security officer reported approaching a man walking his dog and informed him animals aren’t allowed on the property.

“During the encounter, the accused threatened the SSO and displayed a firearm before leaving the area,” Prince William County police Sgt. Erin Noble said in a news release…
