A heartfelt social media video is bringing new attention to a longtime Silver Spring restaurant after a granddaughter gave herself 60 days to help save her grandmother’s business before heading back to college.
The video begins outside La Posada, located at 8545 Piney Branch Rd. in Silver Spring, where the granddaughter introduces viewers to her grandmother, a single mother of three and grandmother of five who has spent the last 20 years running the Salvadoran and Mexican restaurant largely on her own.
She explains that the restaurant was once packed with customers who came for the pupusas, tacos, and homemade meals, but over the years business slowed. According to the granddaughter, it wasn’t because the food changed, but because people simply forgot about the restaurant…
