Italian food lovers are losing a fan favorite in Fairfax this weekend. Alta Strada announced it will permanent close its Mosaic District location on Saturday, July 25.
The restaurant, which was created by James Beard Award winning chef Michael Schlow, expanded to Northern Virginia in 2017. The eatery will continue operating its locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
“While this isn’t the ending we had hoped for, the reality is that the increase in rent made it impossible for us to continue,” said the restaurant in an Instagram post. “Even so, we are deeply grateful for the last 10 years and for the amazing community that made Alta Strada feel like home.”…
