WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A firefighter sustained a minor injury while battling an apartment fire in Southeast D.C. on Wednesday. Two cats were also rescued.
The DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD) said in a post just before 5:55 p.m. that units responded to the 700 block of Brandywine St. SE.
There, firefighters found a small fire in a closet on the third floor of the building. As of that post, the fire had already been extinguished and contained.
