Ken Burns says new Valley Link project will ‘desecrate’ counties if moves forward

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Legendary filmmaker Ken Burns has joined the fight against a new Valley Link project slated to bring over 250 miles of power lines to parts of Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland.

The Emmy Award-winning documentarian released a video Friday morning expressing concerns about the proposed Valley North project, which he said would “plow” through much of West Virginia, including Jefferson County and Shenandoah Valley.

According to its potential routes, Valley North would go through Clarke and Loudoun counties in Virginia, Frederick County in Virginia and Maryland, Garrett County in Maryland and nearly 20 West Virginia counties…
