Woman hurt in Anacostia shooting, DC police investigating

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police are investigating after a Saturday night shooting left a woman hurt in Anacostia.

The investigation began around 8:45 p.m., when Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 1900 block of 19th Place SE. There, police found a woman with a gunshot wound, according to MPD.

Officials noted that the woman was conscious and breathing, and medics took her to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
