Lightning strike ignites Prince George’s County house fire; 6 displaced, officials say

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Six people are displaced after lightning struck a home in Fort Washington late Saturday night as storms moved through the area, according to officials.

Prince George’s County firefighters responded to the one-story single-family home in the 2400 block of Grange Hall Court just minutes before midnight on Aug. 22.

At the scene, crews found flames coming from the roof, and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. Officials noted that no injuries were reported.
